Preparing For Back To School
It’s that time of year again. The summer is over and our little ones are back to school.
This time of the year can be overwhelming……..Don’t you agree?
Getting all the school supplies, back to school forms filled out, shopping for new clothes and thinking about what to make for every day, my head wants to explode!
But don’t worry!
I’ve found these 3 tips helpful for helping me get Justin prepared for back to school.
1. Plan Early:
Get forms and physicals done in June or July. The earlier the better. You beat the last minute rush and have plenty of time to focus on enjoying the summer.
Put a list together of all the school supplies, outfits, shoes, and sports activities and start on it sooner than later. That way when August comes, you know exactly what you need and what to do.
2. Keep Reading
It’s important to take the summer not only as a vacation, but as an opportunity to keep your child engaged in reading.
One thing you don’t want to happen, is for your schooler to get behind on reading. It adds extra stress on you as the parent and the child as well.
Summer reading doesn’t have to be all academics. Let your child experiment with different books that let them imagine things and become different characters.
How fun is that!
3. Meal Prep
So now that the kids are going back to school, it’s time to start thinking about meals.
This is a good time to bring out the Crockpot. It’s easy with literally no mess at all. And dinner is ready when you get home.
This is also a good time to bring out the monthly calendar and start writing out meals for the week. That way, you can plan ahead, grocery shop in advance, meal prep on Sunday, and start with week with no stress.
Hope these tips help you start the school year off nice and smooth. No stress right?
Happy School Year!
